Reports on the Aftercare Conference in Sfîntu Gheorghe
April 2010
This was the first time that BPF organized an Aftercare Conference in Sfîntu Gheorghe, which took place between 23-25 April. The event was held in the Irisz-house which actually hosts the daily-care of mentally ill adults. The subject of the Conference was: “From Co-drinking to Compassion”. There were 121 registered participants of whom two thirds came from the Szekely-land (mainly from Covasna and Harghita counties) and one third came from Tîrgu Mureş and from the Therapy Centre in Ozd. From these two reports you can get a picture of the program’s atmosphere and its effect on people.

Fundraising trip in Great Britain

Prevention: Prison Visit Project
February 2010
Two members of the BPF staff, Éva Adorján and Éva Bartha, have started a new project together with the psychologists of the Târgu Mureş prison. They pay a visit to the prison every week and there was one occasion when the prisoners were taken to the Therapy Centre to see it as an alternative for change. Read more about this project > here.

The Short-term Therapy Program Through the Students’ Eyes

We signed up to practice in Ozd and came to the short therapy program because we are interested in the work with addicts. It was a special feeling to belong to an active and interested working group where we had a part from genuine life stories which we could examine from a professional perspective while we were also personally affected.

German Work Camp in Ozd

It’s been for several years now that an Evangelical congregation from a German town named Halle Westfalen started coming to Romania and organizing so called work camps there during the autumn school holiday. This year we came for the first time to Ozd to help around the Bonus Pastor’s Therapy Centre.

We were not that agitated before leaving for the camp, because we already had experience about such a camp, we knew where we were going and most of all, why we were going.

Old Boys Meeting

Each year the Old Boys Meeting is orgnanized in Ozd. I meet the boys again I was with during the therapy program and everybody tells the news about himself. I go to this meeting every year, unless some extraordinary problems occur in my life. This year, while still at home, I started preparing myself. I was anticipating this meeting with excitement.
