Dutch trip to Bonus Pastor Romania
October 2011
On the 26th of October Ans Visscher, Harry van der Stege and Cor Kiers went to Cluj Napoca in Romania. Éva Adorján picked us up. We separated during our trip to Tîrgu Mureş because Ans went to Ozd to give workshops and Harry and Cor went to the office in Tîrgu Mureş.
On Thursday Harry and Cor met each other in the office. Harry had many discussions with the people from the office and Cor helped Ildiko with the Dutch website. In the evening we were invited by the family Magdó to go to a concert and have dinner. There was also a group from the foundation Careander (Holland) with limitations, who came to the concert and have dinner with us. They brought a van to the daycare.
On Friday, we were early at the office. We continued our work. At noon we went to the car showroom in town to buy a Dacia, financed by the people from Holland. After that Endre, Ildiko, Harry and Cor went to Ozd by the new car.
In the Therapy Centre there were 10 clients. One of the clients showed our room and made our bed. Ans has given workshops to motivated people. She hopes that the activities will be continued when she is back in the Netherlands. After dinner Endre, Harry and Cor went to the castle. In the castle there was a group of young and old people from Halle in Germany to restore the building. We sang songs, told personal stories and Endre was invited for a devotion. He spoke about Nehemia 2:1-18. There was a parallel between restoring Jerusalem and the castle in Ozd.
On Saturday the 29th of October there were discussions with the clients and their supervisors, walking in Ozd and a sight-seeing of the castle. In the afternoon Ans went with Harry and Cor to the local supermarket. We also met Éva Bartha. Harry and Cor were invited to have dinner with the German group and there was a presentation about the history of the castle. In the evening we were together with the clients, who talked about the workshops. We had lemonade and chips. We all concluded that Ans did a very good job with the workshops and she is thinking to come back again.
At the end of the evening Harry spoke about theme: ‘Be Valuable’ and read John 3:16 and Exodus 19:5. Éva translated it for the clients.
We must look back on a fine and successful visit to the Foundation Bonus Pastor in Romania and thank them once again for their hospitality and wishes them God’s blessing in their work.
